JOB TITLE: CASHA Business Coach - Mandera EMPLOYER: Boma Projects ABOUT THE ROLE Are you passionate about transforming livelihoods through enterprise development? Sokify is partnering with Boma Projects to recruit a Business Coach for the CASHA program in Mandera County. This is a dynamic field-based position where you'll provide direct, hands-on support to young entrepreneurs building sustainable businesses in livestock and agricultural value chains. In this role, you'll deliver comprehensive business training, coaching, and mentorship grounded in the proven BOMA REAP graduation model. You'll help participants access financial resources, secure grant funding, and navigate market opportunities—ultimately enabling them to establish thriving enterprises. This is more than a job; it's an opportunity to meaningfully improve household incomes, create dignified employment, and build community resilience. YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES You will identify and onboard program participants using established selection criteria, then guide them through structured business development activities. Your day-to-day work includes delivering gender-responsive, practical training to strengthen enterprise management, financial literacy, and market engagement skills. You'll organize participants into community structures—business groups, livestock aggregation groups, cooperatives, and Village Savings and Loaning Associations (VSLAs)—creating the foundations for collective success. Working closely with participants, you'll help them develop viable business plans, apply for Challenge Fund grants, and monitor how those funds are utilized to grow their enterprises. Monthly mentorship sessions, market linkage meetings, and capacity-building activities are core to your schedule. You'll also conduct micro-training workshops aligned with the program calendar and facilitate connections between participants and county government officials, research institutions, technical and vocational training centers, and private sector partners. Your role extends to robust program monitoring and data management. You'll collect structured data on business group and savings group progress, maintain key performance indicators, ensure data quality standards, and document monthly reports with success stories, lessons learned, and actionable insights. You'll participate in regular review meetings and actively collaborate with other departments and consortium partners. Equipment and asset management is also your responsibility—maintaining motorcycles, tablets, and other work tools in proper condition while submitting fuel logs and repair records on time. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR You hold a degree in Business, Commerce, Economics, Entrepreneurship, Agriculture, or Livestock Management. You bring 3 to 5 years of demonstrated experience working with young entrepreneurs, small and medium enterprises, and their markets—particularly within livestock and agricultural value chains. You have a proven track record delivering business development services in arid and semi-arid land (ASAL) regions, with measurable results in business growth and social inclusion. You possess strong mentorship and coaching abilities, combined with deep knowledge of market trends and strategies for helping micro-enterprise startups gain market entry. Your background includes experience in data collection, entry, analysis, and translating data insights into practical decisions. You hold a valid motorcycle license (A1 or A2) and have hands-on riding experience. You're fluent in mobile data collection platforms and Microsoft Office tools. You excel in soft skills—communication, empathy, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and collaboration. Salesforce experience is advantageous. You're self-motivated, able to work independently with minimal supervision, and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills. Finally, you must be a permanent resident of Mandera County.
