Job Description

Consultancy to Validate and Synthesize Existing Market Evidence for Women's Economic Inclusion, Livelihoods and Market Systems in Kenya About RefuSHE RefuSHE Kenya is dedicated to protecting, educating and empowering orphaned, unaccompanied and separated refugee girls and young women. The organization supports these young women in building healthier and more resilient futures for themselves and their children through comprehensive interventions spanning protection, education, skills development, livelihoods and economic empowerment. Program Context RefuSHE is launching the Angaza program, a four-year initiative delivered through a consortium of implementing partners. The program aims to advance economic and financial inclusion for diverse refugee and host community young women aged 18 to 35, including persons with disabilities who operate within the informal economy in both camp and urban settings. Rather than pursuing traditional formal employment pathways, the program strengthens refugee-led, gender-responsive models through an integrated approach. This strategy combines market-relevant skills training, apprenticeships, improved access to capital, and strategic market linkages designed to support and expand young women-led micro-enterprises and strengthen livelihoods across multiple sectors. Kenya possesses an established foundation of existing research and evidence examining women's economic inclusion, market systems and livelihoods development. RefuSHE seeks to engage a consultant or consultancy team to validate, synthesize and consolidate this existing evidence base to inform the design and implementation of the Angaza program.
