Job Description

HEAD OF REP PROGRAM / REP DIRECTOR, KENYA FinAgra ABOUT THE ROLE FinAgra's Rural Entrepreneur Partner (REP) program is at the heart of our agricultural expansion strategy. REPs are local farming partners who manage land, lead field operations, and grow crops for FinAgra under a franchise-style partnership model. FinAgra supplies inputs, equipment, financing, agronomy support, technology tools, and market access, while REPs execute on the ground. Profits from harvest are shared among FinAgra, REPs, farmers, and landowners. As Head of REP Program, you will own every stage of the REP lifecycle — from identifying and screening candidates through selection, contracting, onboarding, active management, performance monitoring, and retention decisions. You will serve as the single accountable owner of our REP pipeline and portfolio. This is a uniquely hands-on strategic leadership position. You will design and implement disciplined systems for managing the REP program as an investment portfolio while simultaneously building a thriving community of rural entrepreneurs. The role demands comfort moving fluidly between boardroom-level capital allocation decisions and field-level execution: meeting with rural partners, understanding local dynamics, solving onboarding challenges, building trust, and ensuring REPs receive practical support to succeed. Beyond pipeline management, you will function as an incubator leader, transforming promising local operators into capable, commercially disciplined farming partners through structure, training, tools, financing access, and operational support. You will advance FinAgra's broader commitment to strengthening rural livelihoods and creating shared value across the agricultural ecosystem. REPORTING AND COLLABORATION Reports to: CEO / Country Manager Works closely with: Agronomy & Operations, Finance & Accounting, Tech & Data, People, Supply Chain, Growth & Partnerships, and headquarters leadership KEY RESPONSIBILITIES REP Strategy and Program Ownership Own the complete REP operating model across the entire lifecycle: identification, screening, selection, contracting, onboarding, active operations, performance review, retention, renewal, and exit decisions. Design and maintain the REP program playbook including stage gates, decision rights, standard operating procedures, templates, and operating cadence. Translate FinAgra's growth ambitions into specific REP sourcing targets organized by geography, crop, cluster, season, and acreage. Build the REP Program function as a structured department with defined roles, responsibilities, team structure, KPIs, and management routines. Serve as the final business owner for all REP selection recommendations before capital commitment. Cross-Functional Coordination Lead or coordinate REP assessment and approval processes across all relevant functions. Ensure clarity around what each team owns within the REP lifecycle. Identify and escalate blockers quickly — whether missing data, delayed legal review, system setup gaps, finance constraints, field execution risks, or partner non-compliance. Establish and maintain a clear RACI matrix for the entire REP program. Team Leadership Manage and develop the REP Program team, including REP Development Manager, Field Development Officers, REP Credit & Underwriting Analyst, Embedded Agritech Data / Scoring Analyst, and third-party KYC providers as needed. Set performance targets, conduct regular reviews, coach team members, and provide field teams with necessary tools and structure for execution. Build a team that combines field credibility, data discipline, and commercial mindfulness. WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE FinAgra maintains a visible, qualified pipeline of REP candidates. Every REP decision is grounded in data, field evidence, legal verification, and sound economics. Capital deployment occurs only where risk and return are clearly understood. REPs complete onboarding before seasons begin rather than during execution. All functions — Agronomy, Operations, Finance, Legal, Tech, and Supply Chain — operate from the same facts. Underperforming REPs are identified early and managed decisively. High-performing partners renew, expand, and become reliable long-term collaborators. REPs experience themselves as valued members of a serious, well-supported FinAgra partner community rather than isolated contractors. Rural entrepreneurs grow stronger over time through FinAgra's structure, coaching, tools, and accountability systems. Local communities view the REP program as a genuine opportunity for rural enterprise development, not an external farming initiative. You demonstrate equal credibility in field discussions with REPs and in leadership conversations about capital allocation, risk, and scale. The REP model becomes repeatable and scalable across countries and crops. EMPLOYMENT DETAILS Position Type: Full-time, on-site in Kenya with travel to other locations as required
