THE OPPORTUNITY We are seeking a Junior BI Analyst to join our team on a paid, permanent basis. You will work alongside experienced data professionals to transform how businesses organize and access their operational information. Your current project involves partnering with an East Coast logistics company that operates with hundreds of fragmented spreadsheets. You will help migrate their data into a unified database and develop intuitive dashboards that their warehouse managers can rely on daily for decision-making. This fully remote position offers the chance to develop core data skills by solving genuine business challenges. You will be mentored closely by our senior team as you learn our internal processes for data ingestion and quality assurance. WHAT YOU WILL DO Your responsibilities will span the entire data lifecycle: connecting to client APIs and pulling raw data into staging environments, cleaning and restructuring messy Excel files and CSV exports, writing SQL queries to support weekly and monthly reporting, building dashboards using platforms like Metabase, Tableau, or Power BI, creating clear documentation that helps clients understand their data sources, tracking down and resolving data discrepancies, and assisting with legacy data migrations into Postgres databases. Beyond chart creation, you will ensure data accuracy and integrity throughout every process. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR You are naturally curious and methodical, comfortable with numbers and logic, and unafraid of trial and error. You communicate clearly in writing and excel at explaining technical concepts to non-technical audiences. You possess basic SQL knowledge including table joins and filtering, strong Excel proficiency with functions like VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables, exceptional attention to detail, reliable internet for remote work, and the ability to manage your own schedule independently. You take a pragmatic approach to solving problems, caring more about effective solutions than elegant ones. Professional experience is not required, but you must be willing to ask for help when stuck and eager to learn foundational data work. VALUABLE EXPERIENCE The following will accelerate your onboarding, though none are required: exposure to Postgres or relational databases, basic JavaScript or Python for data scripting, experience with BI platforms like Metabase, Looker, or Power BI, interest in logistics or warehouse operations, or prior experience working remotely or independently.
