Jhpiego is looking for an accomplished Program Lead to champion a flagship newborn health initiative dedicated to reducing preventable newborn deaths, enhancing quality of care, and advancing specialized support for small and sick newborns, including preterm babies. This is your chance to shape policy, strengthen health systems, and create sustainable impact at scale. You will lead evidence-based interventions, catalyze innovation, forge strategic partnerships, and work alongside national and county governments to elevate maternal and newborn health outcomes throughout Kenya. Your work will expand access to high-quality care, drive adoption of life-saving innovations, reinforce country ownership, and position Jhpiego as East Africa's premier technical partner in maternal and newborn health. What You Will Do Lead all aspects of the Healthy Birth Initiative including strategy development, planning, budgeting, implementation, and performance management, while contributing to broader maternal, newborn, and child health priorities across the organization. Build and nurture partnerships with global organizations, government bodies, donors, professional associations, academic institutions, and implementing partners. Deliver technical leadership in maternal and newborn health, quality improvement initiatives, and innovation introduction, with particular emphasis on mentoring multidisciplinary teams. Strengthen health systems infrastructure, workforce capacity, referral networks, and foster data-driven decision making across regions. Manage financial resources with accountability, ensure compliance with all requirements, mitigate organizational risks, and monitor partner performance. Establish and lead monitoring, evaluation, learning, research, and knowledge-sharing programs that drive continuous improvement. Build, supervise, and mentor a talented multidisciplinary team comprising technical, programmatic, and monitoring and evaluation professionals. Identify and pursue resource mobilization and growth opportunities to advance the organization's mission. What We Are Looking For You hold a Master's degree in Public Health, International Development, or a closely related field. You bring at least ten years of progressively responsible experience managing public health programs, with a minimum of five years in senior leadership roles. You have at least five years of direct experience in maternal, newborn, and child health programming. You have successfully managed large donor-funded programs and led multidisciplinary teams. You possess strong experience working with regional, national, and county governments in Kenya. You have comprehensive knowledge of Kenya's maternal, newborn, and child health landscape and current priorities. You demonstrate expertise in health systems strengthening, quality improvement methodologies, resource mobilization strategies, and stakeholder engagement.
