In this strategic leadership position, you will oversee and optimize all dispatch operations, ensuring flawless coordination of vehicles and drivers to consistently meet service level agreements and exceed customer expectations. Key Responsibilities Direct all dispatch department operations, including staff scheduling, performance management, and comprehensive training programs. Develop, implement, and continuously refine dispatching procedures and protocols to maximize operational efficiency and minimize service delays. Leverage advanced dispatch software and technological systems to monitor vehicle movements, optimize routing, and manage driver assignments with precision. Work collaboratively with drivers, fleet managers, and customer service teams to guarantee punctual pick-ups and deliveries. Track and analyze operational performance metrics, identify emerging patterns, and execute corrective actions to address any service inconsistencies. Ensure strict adherence to all traffic regulations, company policies, and safety standards specific to Mombasa transportation operations. Respond swiftly and effectively to emergency situations and schedule disruptions, implementing appropriate solutions. Maintain comprehensive and accurate documentation of all dispatch activities, driver logs, and vehicle status updates. Partner with maintenance teams to guarantee vehicle availability and proper mechanical readiness for daily dispatch schedules. Establish and maintain robust communication systems within the dispatch team and with external partners. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or equivalent field. Minimum six years of hands-on experience in dispatch operations, including at least two years in a supervisory or managerial role. Proven expertise in transportation logistics and fleet coordination. Proficiency operating dispatch management software and GPS tracking systems. Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with demonstrated ability to make sound decisions quickly under pressure. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities. Flexibility to work varying hours, including evenings and weekends, as operationally required.
