With approximately 140 dedicated team members, we work together to provide comprehensive support across the entire Krones portfolio, driving consistent productivity and quality excellence.
The Opportunity
We're seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to lead our Human Resources function across the East Africa region. You'll serve as a strategic advisor to senior leadership, ensuring our HR operations align seamlessly with regional business objectives, comply fully with local employment legislation, and create a consistently excellent employee experience. This role bridges corporate strategy with on-the-ground execution, requiring you to facilitate regional HR initiatives while supporting talent development, workforce planning, cultural integration, and organizational transformation.
Your Key Responsibilities
You will align subsidiary HR strategy with broader Krones Southern & East Africa objectives while ensuring standardized execution across markets. Working closely with our Managing Director, General Managers, and regional leadership, you'll drive organizational capability, workforce planning, and transformational initiatives in partnership with our MEA Regional Transformation Factory. You'll oversee complete recruitment cycles for critical roles, building strong candidate pipelines while leading succession planning, talent mapping, and leadership development programs tailored to market realities across East Africa.
People operations will fall squarely under your purview—you'll manage payroll, benefits administration, HRIS systems, onboarding, and employee lifecycle processes while ensuring meticulous compliance with employment laws across all East African markets. You'll champion retention initiatives, collaborate with legal teams on labor matters and investigations, and lead annual and mid-year performance cycles, coaching leadership teams on fair and consistent performance management. Additionally, you'll oversee compensation and benefits strategies, drive HR analytics reporting on headcount and turnover metrics, support audit requirements, and mentor your HR team to deliver excellence across all functions.
Your Background
You hold a university degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline, with a minimum of 8-10 years of professional HR experience. At least 5 of those years must include managerial or multi-country responsibility, ideally within complex, multinational organizations. You possess solid knowledge of East African employment law, understand the HRBP operating model, and demonstrate a proven track record leading HR teams through transformation initiatives.
Your Capabilities
You bring strong analytical skills, experience interpreting recruiting KPIs and labor market insights, and expertise in project management, change management, or process improvement. You're proactive, collaborative, and solution-oriented with genuine passion for talent attraction and HR excellence. Equally important are your communication and stakeholder management abilities, strategic thinking, business acumen, and demonstrated capacity for change leadership. You navigate matrix organizations skillfully, maintain unwavering integrity, and embrace continuous improvement as a core principle.
