About This Opportunity
Twyford International is looking for an experienced Bricklayer Manager to lead construction operations, supplier partnerships, advertising initiatives, and artisan engagement programs across multiple countries. This position blends hands-on construction knowledge with strategic oversight, financial management, and cross-regional coordination. You'll drive quality standards, optimize costs, and strengthen relationships with the skilled tradespeople who bring our projects to life.
What You'll Do
Construction Operations & Quality Assurance
Evaluate construction quotes for cost effectiveness and identify savings opportunities. Review and onboard construction suppliers across all operating countries, ensuring they meet company standards. Establish consistent material specifications and quality benchmarks across regions. Conduct regular site and showroom visits to inspect materials, assess workmanship quality, and evaluate facility standards. Review material pricing annually and adjust procurement strategies based on market conditions. Create and implement comprehensive construction plans on yearly, quarterly, and monthly cycles. Monitor project progress through detailed weekly and monthly reporting. Measure the impact of showroom construction on both store performance and overall company revenue. Continuously refine construction methods through market analysis and competitor research.
Advertising Execution & Strategy
Review advertising proposals and quotations for value and effectiveness. Vet and manage advertising service providers and contractors. Tailor advertising materials and approaches to match changing market demands. Roll out integrated advertising campaigns across all countries under your oversight. Track advertising outcomes and present findings through regular reports. Strengthen advertising strategies by studying industry standards and emerging trends.
Procurement & Financial Control
Assess and authorize all procurement expenses including materials, equipment, and discretionary spending. Monitor supplier compliance and ensure performance meets established standards. Maintain rigorous cost discipline across all regional operations.
Artisan Programs & Skills Development
Manage engagement and incentive programs for tilers and construction professionals, including points and reward systems. Review tiler activity data for accuracy and identify unusual patterns or discrepancies. Oversee redemption programs and track execution across all countries. Design re-engagement initiatives for inactive artisans. Approve budgets for tiler training, professional development, and paving projects. Evaluate training needs and implement programs for tilers, marketing staff, and installation teams. Report regularly on training completion rates and program effectiveness.
Planning, Reporting & Team Leadership
Assess staffing requirements across countries and support recruitment efforts. Produce comprehensive weekly and monthly reports covering construction, advertising, and artisan initiatives. Develop strategic roadmaps spanning yearly, quarterly, and monthly timeframes. Build a culture of improvement by leveraging data insights, market trends, and competitive intelligence.
What We're Looking For
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Building and Construction, Interior Design, or related field. Between 5 and 10 years of professional experience in construction management, project delivery, or related roles. Proven track record managing skilled workers including tilers, masons, and finishing specialists. Demonstrated expertise in procurement processes, vendor management, and cost containment. Capability to oversee operations effectively across multiple countries. Deep knowledge of tiling techniques, finishing materials, and construction products. Strong leadership abilities with excellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills. Clear communicator in English (Swahili proficiency is valued). Comfortable working with Excel spreadsheets and business reporting systems.
Nice to Have
Background in the tile industry or building materials sector. Experience coordinating advertising or marketing projects. Work history across African markets.
