The Role
The TVET Directorate seeks passionate and experienced part-time trainers to deliver quality education and practical training across key health disciplines. As a Part-Time Lecturer, you will be instrumental in shaping competent health professionals through a combination of classroom instruction, practical assessment, and mentorship.
Your Key Responsibilities
Teaching and Curriculum Delivery: Deliver instruction in assigned course units in alignment with established curriculum standards and occupational benchmarks.
Practical Training: Design, conduct, and evaluate practical sessions to reinforce theoretical learning and develop hands-on technical competencies.
Assessment and Evaluation: Prepare and administer both internal and external examinations, conduct continuous assessments, and ensure accurate grading and record management through the institution's ERP system.
Student Development: Mentor and supervise trainees, including oversight during industrial attachments, while preparing them for external examinations and professional practice.
Documentation: Maintain meticulous records of student progress, examination schedules, and class attendance as required by the directorate and TVETA standards.
Academic Leadership: Develop comprehensive schemes of work, lesson plans, and lecture notes that facilitate effective learning outcomes.
Examination Duties: Invigilate both internal and external examinations to maintain assessment integrity.
Flexibility: Attend all assigned class contact hours and perform additional duties as directed by the Head of Department or Director.
Specialisation Areas and Requirements
We are recruiting Part-Time Lecturers across five key specialisations:
COUNSELLING PSYCHOLOGY
Required: Bachelor of Arts in Counselling Psychology, registration and licensure with the Counsellors and Psychologist Board, minimum two years TVET teaching experience, Certificate in Pedagogy or TVETA trainer registration.
Advantageous: Two years of relevant industry experience.
COMMUNITY HEALTH
Required: Bachelor of Science in Community Health and Development, minimum two years TVET teaching experience, Certificate in Pedagogy or TVETA trainer registration.
Advantageous: Two years of relevant industry experience.
HEALTH RECORDS AND ICT
Required: Bachelor of Science in Health Records and Information Management, registration and licensure with the Health Records and Information Management Board, minimum two years TVET teaching experience, Certificate in Pedagogy or TVETA trainer registration.
Advantageous: Two years of relevant industry experience.
SOCIAL WORK
Required: Bachelor of Arts in Social Work and Community Development, minimum two years TVET teaching experience, Certificate in Pedagogy or TVETA trainer registration.
Advantageous: Two years of relevant industry experience.
ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCES
Required: Bachelor of Science in Environmental Sciences, minimum two years TVET teaching experience, Certificate in Pedagogy or TVETA trainer registration.
Advantageous: Two years of relevant industry experience.
