COUNTRY MANAGER - KENYA
ABOUT THE ROLE
Sokify is seeking an accomplished and commercially focused Country Manager to take the helm of our Kenya operations and drive significant business growth. In this pivotal leadership position, you will oversee all aspects of our Kenyan market performance, from revenue generation and customer acquisition to operational excellence, product development for local needs, and strategic market expansion.
You will be instrumental in strengthening our market position and maintaining competitive advantage in Kenya's vibrant and rapidly evolving online betting and gaming sector. This role demands a sophisticated grasp of the African iGaming landscape with particular expertise in Kenya, backed by demonstrated success in sportsbook management, online casino operations, customer acquisition strategies, and operational leadership.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Driving Commercial Performance and Business Growth
You will develop and implement comprehensive growth strategies tailored to Kenya's market dynamics, accelerating revenue across our sportsbook, casino, crash games, and emerging product verticals. Your responsibilities include identifying and capitalizing on new market opportunities, establishing strategic partnerships, and discovering innovative customer acquisition channels. You will monitor competitive movements, market trends, and evolving customer preferences while collaborating closely with marketing and affiliate teams to optimize player acquisition and maximize customer lifetime value.
Managing Daily Operations
You will oversee seamless day-to-day operations across all business units, fostering effective collaboration between operations, customer relationship management, support services, payments, risk management, and product development teams. You will track essential performance indicators and operational metrics, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency and elevate the overall customer experience.
Marketing and Customer Engagement
Working to ensure all marketing campaigns and promotional activities resonate authentically with Kenyan audiences, you will partner with customer retention and VIP management teams to refine bonus strategies and retention approaches. You will partner with acquisition specialists to drive sustainable player growth while leveraging behavioral analytics and performance data to continuously improve campaign outcomes.
Regulatory and Compliance Management
You will ensure full adherence to Kenya's gaming regulations and licensing frameworks, maintaining strong working relationships with regulatory authorities and external partners. You will champion responsible gaming practices, fraud prevention measures, and anti-money laundering compliance protocols.
Team Leadership and Strategic Alignment
You will lead and develop local team members, working collaboratively with senior leadership on strategic initiatives and business planning. You will deliver regular market analysis, performance forecasts, and commercial reporting while building and nurturing relationships with partners, suppliers, and industry stakeholders.
REQUIREMENTS
You bring a minimum of five years of progressive experience within the iGaming or sports betting sector, including prior tenure as a Country Manager, General Manager, Commercial Manager, or equivalent senior operational leadership role. You possess deep knowledge of Kenya's betting landscape and the broader African gaming market, with a demonstrated ability to drive revenue expansion and market growth. Your background includes hands-on experience managing both sportsbook and online casino operations, supported by strong commercial acumen, operational expertise, and analytical capabilities. You excel at stakeholder engagement and team leadership, have practical experience collaborating with acquisition, CRM, affiliate, and retention functions, and maintain solid understanding of gaming compliance and regulatory frameworks. You thrive in fast-paced, high-growth environments and demonstrate the agility to adapt to market changes.
PREFERRED BACKGROUND
Candidates with previous experience at established African-focused sportsbook or online gaming operators are particularly valued, especially those with hands-on track records managing local market performance, customer expansion, and operational strategy across African markets. Background working with brands active in East Africa or other emerging gaming markets represents a significant advantage.
