SOKIFY JOB POSTING Position: Head of Commercial Capability Organization: East African Breweries PLC (EABL), a Diageo company About the Role East African Breweries PLC is the region's premier branded alcohol beverage company, operating an impressive portfolio spanning beer, spirits and adult non-alcoholic drinks. With established breweries, distilleries and distribution networks across Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania, EABL stands as a major public-listed enterprise with growing export operations throughout Eastern Africa. You will lead the commercial capability strategy across EABL's entire regional footprint, architecting world-class commercial competencies that drive sustainable growth and exceptional market execution. This role sits at the strategic heart of the organization, collaborating with capability managers across all markets to elevate commercial excellence and deliver lasting shareholder value. Key Responsibilities Your scope encompasses five critical dimensions. First, you will develop and maintain EABL's multi-year regional commercial capability strategy, prioritizing investments that align with business growth ambitions and commercial objectives. Second, you will own the design and maintenance of commercial capability frameworks covering sales, customer development, distributor management and route-to-market execution. This includes defining selling standards, competency requirements and certification methodologies while ensuring consistency across all markets. Third, you will architect the regional learning architecture, creating curricula and capability journeys for key commercial populations. You will establish coaching frameworks, field immersion programs and accreditation standards that remain scalable and commercially relevant. Fourth, you will identify future commercial skills requirements emerging from digital transformation, data analytics evolution and shifting customer dynamics. You will ensure the organization is prepared for evolving market demands and new ways of working. Finally, you will establish governance processes, performance standards and capability scorecards. You will analyze capability data, identify improvement opportunities and facilitate best-practice sharing across all markets. Required Qualifications and Experience You hold a bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Commerce, Operations or related discipline, or equivalent professional experience demonstrating equivalent expertise. You possess broad commercial and customer operations understanding with the ability to translate complex topics such as customer lifecycle management, pricing strategy, customer investment and cash collection into clear learning outcomes. You have proven experience designing and deploying learning measurement frameworks including proficiency indicators, confidence metrics, application rates and business impact measures. Your background includes end-to-end ownership of transformation learning programmes across multiple workstreams or geographic markets. You excel in needs analysis, curriculum architecture, content development, train-the-trainer delivery, certification and reinforcement across blended learning solutions. You bring a consultative delivery approach, diagnosing root problems, building stakeholder cases and securing commitment from senior leaders regardless of reporting lines. You are outcome-focused, measured by whether the business changed rather than deliverables shipped. You are comfortable translating market requirements into scalable regional designs and possess familiarity with commercial tools including customer lifecycle management platforms, traceability systems, global learning platforms and content localization approaches. Advantageous qualifications include recognized learning design, instructional design or change management certifications plus facilitation or train-the-trainer credentials.
