About Causal Foundry
Causal Foundry is an AI company developing adaptive decision-support infrastructure for health systems, supply chains, and public-sector operations. The Kenkai platform empowers governments, funders, and implementing partners to transition from isolated data systems and static dashboards to intelligent, adaptive platforms capable of predicting risk, recommending action, personalizing interventions, and learning continuously from real-world outcomes.
The company partners with leading global health and public-sector organizations to advance healthcare delivery across low- and middle-income countries. Core competencies include operational AI, reinforcement learning, behavioral nudges, digital twins, health workforce optimization, supply chain intelligence, and privacy-first data infrastructure.
In Kenya, Causal Foundry supports the Government of Kenya's digital health transformation through AI-enabled solutions for primary and community healthcare. This work integrates with national systems and strategic partner infrastructure to enhance frontline health worker engagement, supervision, learning, and care quality.
The Opportunity
Causal Foundry seeks an accomplished, politically sophisticated, and highly trusted senior leader to establish and expand the organization's presence in Kenya. As Head of Nairobi Office and Partnerships Director, you will lead the Nairobi-based team, deepen relationships with government institutions, coordinate local implementation partners, cultivate strategic partnerships and funding opportunities, and ensure AI-enabled health systems work is delivered with credibility, rigor, and lasting institutional value.
This role demands someone comfortable working across the intersection of government, technology, health systems, implementation, and partnerships. The ideal candidate brings established relationships across the Ministry of Health, digital health agencies, county governments, donors, and ecosystem stakeholders, with demonstrated ability to navigate complex institutional environments with discretion, maturity, and sound judgment.
This is a foundational leadership position for Causal Foundry's Kenya and East Africa operations.
Key Responsibilities
Government and Stakeholder Engagement
Cultivate and sustain trusted relationships with senior decision-makers across the Ministry of Health, Digital Health Agency, Division of Community Health, county governments, public-sector agencies, and national digital health structures.
Represent Causal Foundry in strategic forums, technical working groups, steering committees, workshops, and public-sector consultations.
Engage government processes with credibility and persistence, ensuring Causal Foundry's initiatives align with national priorities, institutional governance frameworks, and long-term public-sector ownership models.
Kenya Program Leadership
Oversee local coordination of Causal Foundry's Kenya portfolio, spanning eCHIS implementation, community health initiatives, PharmAccess SafeCare, Virtual Academy programming, AI policy development, and related digital health projects.
Coordinate project activities seamlessly across government counterparts, implementation partners, funders, and Causal Foundry's technical teams.
Facilitate transition from technical deployment to sustained adoption, ensuring AI-enabled workflows are understood, trusted, and actively utilized by frontline and supervisory teams.
Supply Chain and Health Systems Expansion
Advance development of Causal Foundry's health supply chain portfolio across Kenya and East Africa, identifying opportunities in commodity availability, procurement intelligence, warehousing, distribution, last-mile logistics, vaccine delivery, and medical product access.
Determine how Causal Foundry's AI capabilities strengthen forecasting, eliminate stockouts and expiries, optimize resource allocation, enhance logistics performance, and build resilient supply chains for ministries, public agencies, donors, and implementing partners.
Collaborate with Causal Foundry's technical and strategy teams to convert supply chain challenges into practical, fundable, and implementable AI solutions aligned with government priorities and partner requirements.
AI in Health Policy and Institutional Positioning
Contribute to Causal Foundry's engagement with Kenya's AI in Health agenda, including collaboration with policy bodies, technical working groups, ethical review processes, and national digital health initiatives.
