ABOUT THE ROLE
We're seeking a Leave of Absence Specialist to join Solvo Global's growing HR team. In this position, you'll become an essential support system for employees navigating critical career transitions. You'll manage leave of absence cases while ensuring strict regulatory compliance, maintaining accurate records, and delivering exceptional service to both employees and managers.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee the complete leave of absence case management process, guaranteeing adherence to federal and state employment regulations
Educate and guide employees and their managers through company leave policies, eligibility requirements, and procedural steps
Evaluate employee eligibility for leave and review medical certifications within established timelines
Maintain consistent, professional communication with all parties involved, providing regular updates and comprehensive documentation throughout the leave process
Monitor and accurately record leave usage data while ensuring HRIS records remain current and reliable
Serve as a primary point of contact for HR teams and employees, responding promptly to inquiries via phone, email, and in-person meetings
Conduct return-to-work follow-ups and coordinate benefits information during employees' time away
Investigate and resolve discrepancies, unusual patterns, or suspected leave misuse with discretion and professionalism
Deliver customer-focused service while consistently meeting departmental performance targets
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a closely related field (or equivalent professional experience)
Three to five years of dedicated HR experience, with preference given to candidates with direct leave of absence management background
Comprehensive understanding of employment law and leave of absence regulations across multiple jurisdictions
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities with strong interpersonal skills
Demonstrated capability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously while maintaining quality under deadline pressure
Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information with integrity
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving competencies
Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is valued
