Job Description

INTERNATIONAL LAW ENFORCEMENT ADVISOR - KENYA Sokify connects talent with meaningful opportunities that drive real change. We're partnering with the Human Trafficking Institute to fill a critical advisory role that directly impacts Kenya's capacity to combat human trafficking and child exploitation. THE ROLE The Human Trafficking Institute is transforming how the world fights human trafficking and protects vulnerable children. They've proven their model works and now they're scaling impact across Kenya. This is your chance to be at the center of that growth. As International Law Enforcement Advisor for Kenya, you'll be the bridge between global expertise and local law enforcement capacity. Working closely with our Country Director, Special Counsel, and key government partners including Kenya's Directorate of Criminal Investigations, you'll provide specialized guidance to investigators, prosecutors, and justice officials tackling some of the most complex crimes imaginable. You'll spend two weeks each month on-site in Nairobi, working intensively with teams on investigative strategy, advanced training, and institutional strengthening. Your core responsibilities will span three areas: designing and delivering cutting-edge training on trafficking investigations and digital forensics to law enforcement and judicial officials; providing direct mentorship on proactive and reactive investigation strategies, including guidance on digital evidence, online exploitation tactics, financial crime connections, and cross-border cases; and cultivating relationships across Kenya's criminal justice ecosystem to strengthen collaboration, communication of HTI's mission, and case outcomes. You'll advise investigators on victim-centered interviewing approaches and trauma-informed practices, help identify systemic gaps in investigations, support evidence-based prosecution strategies, guide digital and open-source intelligence methods, and maintain detailed case records while safeguarding sensitive information. WHAT YOU BRING - REQUIRED You hold a bachelor's degree in criminal justice, criminology, law, or security studies. You've logged eight or more years in law enforcement, with substantial hands-on experience investigating human trafficking, child exploitation, online sexual exploitation of children, and financial or organized crime. You bring three-plus years conducting digital investigations and open-source intelligence work, including social media analysis, online tracing, and electronic evidence development. You've collaborated effectively with prosecutors, intelligence units, and multi-agency task forces. You can engage confidently with senior government officials, exercising diplomacy, discretion, and cultural sensitivity in high-stakes environments. You're skilled at translating complex investigative and financial crime concepts into accessible, skills-building training for diverse practitioners. You communicate exceptionally well both verbally and in writing, present dynamically, and facilitate group learning. You exercise strong professional judgment, own accountability, take initiative independently, and engage effectively across diverse stakeholder groups even in sensitive or pressurized situations. You prioritize competing demands without sacrificing quality, deliver excellence with minimal oversight, and maintain meticulous organization. WHAT YOU BRING - PREFERRED Advanced training in investigations, financial crime, cybercrime, or related disciplines strengthens your candidacy. Three-plus years designing and delivering specialized training on trafficking, crimes against children, domestic violence, gender-based violence, or cybercrime is valuable. Experience leading, supporting, or conducting cross-border and transnational investigations is a plus. Background working in diverse operational contexts, including international settings, is advantageous. CONTRACT STRUCTURE Position based in Nairobi, Kenya. Eight deployments annually (June through November, February through March). Each deployment involves ten in-country business days plus four non-business days totaling fourteen nights, following a consistent two-week rhythm. You'll adapt to travel or schedule adjustments within budget parameters and provide limited remote support during non-deployment periods. A valid driver's license is preferred.
