POSITION TITLE: QA & Test Senior Analyst - ETL ABOUT THIS ROLE Join The Cigna Group as a QA & Test Senior Analyst specializing in ETL testing. Reporting directly to the QA Manager, you will lead quality assurance planning, execution, and reporting for new and enhanced data and analytics solutions. Your expertise will ensure data quality, reliability, and operational fitness across ETL pipelines, databases, and downstream analytics platforms. Working within a SAFe Agile environment, you will collaborate closely with Scrum teams, product owners, data engineers, and business stakeholders to champion quality-first principles throughout the entire delivery lifecycle. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES You will own and deliver QA objectives for assigned projects while maintaining rigorous quality standards. You will develop comprehensive product and data knowledge to create effective test designs, then execute test cases with meticulous defect logging, tracking, and management. Your work will include defining test priorities, building efficient execution plans, and participating actively in defect triage sessions and root cause analysis activities. You will engage fully in PI planning, sprint planning, and all Agile ceremonies while tracking and reporting test progress against established plans. You will contribute meaningfully to sprint retrospectives and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Additionally, you will apply appropriate test techniques, methodologies, and tools to maximize test coverage, mentor and support junior QA team members, and champion Quality Engineering best practices while actively driving efficiency improvements. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE You must hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or demonstrate equivalent professional experience. You need five to eight years of Software QA experience with a strong focus on ETL and data testing, including proven success validating ETL extraction, transformation, and load processes. Strong SQL skills are essential, including proficiency with stored procedures and backend testing. You must have hands-on experience testing across multiple database types and working with ETL testing tools. Test automation experience using code, preferably Python, is required. You will demonstrate a strong understanding of the complete test lifecycle, proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server tools, and comprehensive knowledge of SDLC and Agile delivery models. Expertise in automated testing and modelling tools, change management, and test design is necessary. You must show capability in quality metrics, dashboards, and release readiness reporting, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities are essential, as is the capacity to work independently or lead effectively within a team. High attention to detail and accuracy, combined with commitment to continuous personal development, are non-negotiable. Knowledge of the healthcare insurance industry is required. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE ISTQB Foundation or Intermediate certification would strengthen your application. Additional valuable experience includes database and API testing, hands-on testing in cloud platforms such as AWS or Microsoft Azure, and ownership of data quality strategy and test approach across analytics platforms. Python test automation, ETL tools like SSIS, relational database expertise with SQL, PostgreSQL, or DBeaver, web technologies including Java and HTML, Salesforce and Vlocity experience, or Selenium and UFT experience would all be advantageous.
