The Role
Drive sales growth and business performance across 15 Sub-Saharan African countries (West African Community, East African Community, and South African neighbouring markets) by managing key accounts and building strategic partnerships. You will implement comprehensive sales, marketing, and market access strategies across all animal health segments including poultry, pets, ruminants, swine, equine, and veterinary public health products. This position is based in Nairobi, Kenya, and requires frequent regional travel.
Your Responsibilities
Sales Planning and Strategy
Collaborate with the Head of Animal Health to develop country-specific business plans that drive regional growth and achieve net sales targets through local distribution partners. Gather market intelligence and distributor insights to generate accurate sales forecasts. Identify and capitalize on new market opportunities to secure sustainable revenue growth. Manage departmental budgets effectively, tracking all sales, marketing, and market access expenses. Prepare product launches and execute comprehensive launch management plans.
Sales Execution and Performance Management
Achieve sales and revenue targets through disciplined distributor management, regular performance reviews, activity monitoring, and data-driven strategy alignment. Build strong value-based customer relationships and maintain consistent engagement. Monitor product availability and supply chain effectiveness, taking corrective action when needed.
Marketing and Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Sales and Marketing Leads to execute regional marketing initiatives. Work across departments to deliver country-specific business activities that prioritize quality and customer satisfaction. Contribute to integrated campaigns that maximize market penetration and brand presence.
Relationship and Partnership Management
Establish and nurture strategic relationships with distributors and key accounts to ensure reliable product supply, effective promotion, and optimal market access. Work collaboratively with internal teams to guarantee adequate stock availability. Support distributors in building positive, professional relationships with diverse customer bases throughout the region. Maintain all activities within global compliance standards and operational procedures.
Required Qualifications
Educational Background
Veterinary degree, specialist degree in microbiology or virology, or equivalent professional qualification.
Professional Experience
Minimum 7-10 years working in animal health industry sales leadership roles. At least 5 years demonstrating proven success in sales and marketing with a clear track record of target achievement and strategy implementation. Sub-Saharan African work experience is advantageous.

Industry Knowledge
Sound understanding of animal health sector economics and market drivers preferred.
