STOREKEEPER
POSITION OVERVIEW
As a Storekeeper at our luxury hospitality establishment, you will play a vital role in maintaining seamless warehouse and storage operations that support our exceptional guest experiences. You will receive, organize, and distribute merchandise across departments while ensuring the highest standards of inventory management, food safety, and facility cleanliness.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Merchandise Management and Organization
Receive incoming deliveries and systematically stage merchandise by department, applying appropriate labels and marks for proper placement throughout the facility. Stack and arrange received goods on pallets or carts for efficient storage and retrieval. Complete detailed requisition forms to maintain accurate inventory and supply records.
Quality Assurance and Inspection
Carefully inspect all deliveries, verifying freshness dates, cleanliness standards, consistency, and overall quality across all items. Reject any damaged, incorrect, or substandard merchandise promptly. Properly store perishable items following established protocols and rotate stock to maintain freshness and minimize waste.
Food Safety and Sanitation
Strictly adhere to all food safety and handling policies in food-related areas. Regularly organize, clean, and sanitize refrigeration units, freezers, storage floors, food preparation equipment, and drainage systems to maintain the highest hygiene standards.
Stock Monitoring and Communication
Monitor inventory levels continuously and notify management immediately when stock falls below acceptable thresholds. Remove empty pallets, cardboard boxes, and other waste materials, disposing of them in designated storage areas.
Safety and Compliance
Report all accidents, injuries, and unsafe working conditions to your manager without delay. Complete all required safety training and certifications. Maintain strict adherence to company policies, ensuring your uniform and personal appearance reflect professional standards at all times.
Team Collaboration and Professionalism
Communicate with guests and colleagues using clear, respectful, and professional language. Build positive relationships with team members and contribute actively to achieving shared departmental and organizational goals. Maintain confidentiality regarding proprietary company information and protect company assets consistently.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
You will stand, sit, and walk for extended periods throughout your shift. You must be able to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and manipulate objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance. Fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination are essential for accurate handling of goods. You will navigate narrow spaces, work on sloping or uneven surfaces, and move up and down stairs and service ramps as needed. You must be able to read and verify information in various formats, including small print.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
A diploma or qualification in Purchasing and Supplies Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.
Previous work experience in store management roles within a five-star hotel environment is highly valued.
