TENDER MANAGER - DRILLING AND COMPLETIONS FLUIDS

About The Role
Are you driven by commercial excellence and the challenge of developing winning strategies? Baker Hughes seeks a Tender Manager to join our Oilfield Services and Equipment division. Reporting to the segment commercial operations leader, you'll be the commercial architect behind our drilling and completions fluids business, shaping strategy and driving profitable growth across assigned regions.
Your Responsibilities
You will own the entire inquiry-to-order process, from initial customer engagement through deal closure. This includes developing compelling proposals, negotiating commercial terms, and ensuring every opportunity delivers shareholder value while maintaining competitive pricing and acceptable risk profiles.
You'll collaborate extensively with customers and internal teams to identify must-win opportunities and strategic initiatives. Your technical acumen will be essential as you analyze complex product requirements, validate risk-reward balances, and craft solutions tailored to specific client conditions and environments.
Your duties will encompass:
Managing the full tendering cycle including proposal development, customer negotiation, and tender documentation submission
Protecting pricing integrity while maintaining flexibility within predefined contract frameworks
Building and maintaining regional pricing strategies in close partnership with sales and technical teams
Supporting cross-functional efforts including global product line headquarters, regional sales, engineering, supply chain, and commercial operations
Conducting competitive analysis, price benchmarking, and identifying pricing optimization opportunities
Ensuring we deliver superior technical and commercial solutions at the lowest risk and highest profitability
Leading after-action reviews on significant lost deals to capture organizational learning
Coordinating seamlessly across sales, technology, engineering, supply chain, service delivery, quality, HSE, legal, and finance functions
Overseeing the handoff from order-to-receipt, guaranteeing we execute on customer commitments
Qualifications Required
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
Minimum three years in a sales or commercial role
Minimum five years specifically in drilling and completions fluids
Demonstrated proficiency with commercial tools including Deal Machine, Quote Machine, and CPQ systems
Extensive experience with the inquiry-to-order process, project business management, and P&L accountability
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with excellent process management skills
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
Demonstrated interpersonal and leadership strengths
Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree from an accredited institution
