VIDEO EDITOR Department: Marketing & Creative Employment Type: Permanent - Full Time Location: Nairobi, Kenya Reporting To: Creative Lead ABOUT THE ROLE Sun King is seeking a talented Video Editor to join our creative team in Nairobi. You'll be responsible for crafting compelling visual narratives that bring our brand to life across multiple channels. Working closely with our marketing and creative teams, you'll transform raw footage into polished, engaging content that supports our campaigns, digital presence, and internal communications while maintaining our brand identity and strategic vision. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING Video Editing and Post-Production You'll edit raw footage into finished pieces ready for campaigns, digital platforms, and internal use. Your work will involve arranging sequences with thoughtful pacing, smooth transitions, and clear storytelling that captures viewer attention. Every output you create will uphold our quality standards and brand guidelines. Motion Graphics and Visual Effects You'll enhance videos with motion graphics, titles, lower thirds, and animations that elevate the storytelling. You'll apply color correction and grading techniques to maintain visual consistency throughout projects and integrate visual effects where they strengthen the narrative. Audio Editing and Sound Design You'll handle audio editing and mixing, balancing dialogue, music, and sound effects to create a cohesive listening experience. Your work will ensure clarity and broadcast or platform-ready sound quality across all deliverables. Content Adaptation and Optimization You'll format and repurpose videos for different platforms including social media, web, television, and internal presentations. This includes creating multiple versions such as cutdowns, teasers, and localized adaptations with proper aspect ratios, resolutions, and file formats. Collaboration and Stakeholder Management You'll partner with designers, copywriters, and marketing professionals to understand project briefs and translate them into visual work. You'll welcome and incorporate feedback from stakeholders while ensuring all content aligns with campaign objectives and participate actively in creative discussions. Project and File Management You'll juggle multiple projects at once while consistently meeting deadlines. You'll maintain well-organized project files, archives, and version control systems to keep our production workflow smooth and efficient. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR Education and Experience You hold a bachelor's degree in Film Production, Media Studies, Communications, or a related field. Equivalent hands-on experience is equally valued. You bring 2 to 5 years of professional video editing experience from corporate, agency, or media settings, supported by a strong portfolio demonstrating range across different project types. Technical Skills You're proficient in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro. Knowledge of motion graphics tools like Adobe After Effects and experience with color grading software are valuable additions. You understand video formats, codecs, export settings, and the principles of visual storytelling. Personal Qualities You have a sharp eye for detail and strong creative problem-solving abilities. You adapt well to change, manage multiple priorities without losing quality, and thrive under deadline pressure. You stay current with video trends and social media formats, understand branding concepts deeply, and are willing to put in extra hours when projects demand it.
