Job Description
CLAIMS REPRESENTATIVE (GEH) - PROVIDER SERVICE ORGANISATION
ABOUT THIS ROLE
As a Claims Representative with The Cigna Group's Provider Service Organisation, you'll be at the foundation of our healthcare claims operations. This entry-level position offers hands-on experience in claims processing, administrative support, and customer service. You'll work under structured guidance while developing the technical and operational skills needed to advance your career in healthcare administration.
YOUR PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
You will adjudicate international medical, dental, and vision claims from healthcare providers, ensuring they align with policy terms and conditions while meeting both personal productivity and team quality targets. Your day-to-day tasks will include processing paper and electronic claims, completing data entry, managing files, and providing comprehensive administrative support.
Beyond basic claims handling, you'll monitor high-cost claims and alert relevant teams to significant cases. You're responsible for tracking turnaround times and escalating any delays to your supervisor to ensure claims settle within required timeframes. When providers, internal teams, or external customers inquire about plan design, eligibility, or claims status, you'll respond promptly with accurate information and take corrective action when needed, prioritizing first-contact resolution wherever possible.
You'll own the Provider country cluster assigned to you, taking full accountability for service delivery. You're encouraged to identify workflow inefficiencies and recommend improvements to your team leader. Supporting colleagues to achieve collective goals is equally important, and you'll remain flexible to work across the European business according to service demands. Additional ad-hoc assignments may arise based on business priorities.
WHAT YOU BRING
You're customer-focused with genuine problem-solving ability and a track record of meeting or exceeding targets while juggling multiple priorities. You have solid proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and ideally hold English and arithmetic qualifications.
Prior experience in medical administration, claims processing, or a contact centre environment is valuable but not required. What matters most is your attitude and readiness to learn.
KEY QUALITIES
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy are non-negotiable in this role. You communicate clearly and professionally both verbally and in writing, building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You work independently when needed, take initiative, and actively seek out ways to improve processes. You're organized, able to prioritize effectively, and demonstrate sound judgment in day-to-day decision-making.
